Thunder’s Bismack Biyombo has OKC bench alarmed after fainting during timeout vs Trail Blazers

The Oklahoma City Thunder found themselves in a heated matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Despite having an early advantage over Portland, a moment of concern arose when Bismack Biyombo, the veteran center for OKC, appeared to faint near the team’s bench.

During an intermission, Biyombo stood by the Oklahoma City bench, engaging with players through high-fives. Unexpectedly, the veteran center collapsed backward onto the floor, as reported by Clemente Almanza. Fortunately, Biyombo quickly recovered and managed to walk to the tunnel under his own power.

Biyombo, who averages 4.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 21.8 minutes per game, has been a valuable presence for the Thunder during their impressive season.

At halftime, the Thunder held a solid 65-57 lead against the Trail Blazers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge with 16 first-half points, while rookie center Chet Holmgren contributed 16 points and nine rebounds.

Despite the halftime lead, Oklahoma City needs to maintain its momentum if it hopes to secure a victory against Portland.

The Trail Blazers entered the game with a record of 17-43, coming off a tough 119-114 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Eager for an upset against OKC, Portland saw Jerami Grant notch 11 points by the end of the half, but they’ll be looking for increased production from Anfernee Simmons, who totaled just six points.

The Thunder are counting on more contributions from their star players. Four out of five starters for OKC scored in double digits, with Luguentz Dort being the lone single-digit scorer.

In conclusion, the collective relief was palpable as Bismack Biyombo regained alertness after his fainting episode. The hope is that he remains in good health without any further issues.
