LeBron James Initiates Mega-Investment with Rap Star

The PGA Tour is set to receive prominent and notably affluent support. As officially announced, NBA superstar LeBron James and rapper Drake are joining the ranks of investors in the golf association.

The basketball player and the musician are part of a group collectively injecting three billion dollars (approximately 2.78 billion euros) into the PGA Tour. Additionally, James and Drake will serve as marketing powerhouses, leveraging their high global visibility for the venture.

Drake Praises the Sport of Golf Alongside the duo, who also own stakes in the Italian football club AC Milan, actors Chris Pratt and NBA player agent Maverick Carter are among the investors.

Drake is quoted in a statement regarding the deal. “Golf can be so much more than a sport,” said the star rapper, who associates some of his fondest childhood memories with the sport. He added, “Investing in a sports team is one thing, but helping one of the biggest leagues in the world reshape itself is an incredible opportunity, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

Golf is currently undergoing a transformative period. Recently, there were talks of a potential merger between the PGA Tour and the LIV Tour, funded by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), following years of disputes and player migrations.
