Devean George, despite not achieving star status in his NBA career, played a crucial role as a reliable role player during the Los Angeles Lakers’ three-peat championship run from 2000 to 2002. George recounted their conversations, with Bryant repeatedly asking, “Did they get the numbers right?” and expressing his commitment to the cause, saying, “Okay, I’ll be in there tomorrow working out.”
