NBA players react to LeBron James’ remarkable 40K points record

LeBron James continues to etch his name in the annals of history. Not only does he stand as the all-time leading scorer, but he has now become the inaugural player to amass an astounding 40,000 points in the league.

His most recent milestone has captivated the NBA world, eliciting congratulatory messages and accolades from fellow players for the Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar.

Entering Saturday’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets, James required just nine points to breach the 40,000-point threshold.

In the second quarter, a resilient lay-up propelled him beyond this historic mark, concluding the night with an impressive stat line of 26 points, four rebounds, and nine assists.

Following this record-breaking achievement, numerous former and current NBA players expressed their reactions on social media.

Lakers icon Magic Johnson, in particular, conveyed his elation at witnessing LeBron secure not only the NBA all-time scoring record but also the remarkable feat of reaching 40,000 points.

“Congratulations to LeBron James for becoming the first and only player in NBA history to score 40,000 points! I’m thrilled to have been present to witness such an incredible feat!” exclaimed Johnson. “I love that I’m here tonight; I got to see when LeBron broke Kareem’s record, and the fact I was the one who passed it to Kareem when he originally set the record! Now we need the Lakers to pull out a victory to make the night even bigger and better for LeBron!”

Kendrick Perkins dubbed James the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), showering him with praise.

Lakers legends Lamar Odom and Metta World Peace also extended their congratulations to James for this remarkable achievement.

“Congratulations to my brother and the [GOAT] for being the ONLY player ever to reach 40K!!!! Carry on, LeBron…” lauded Perkins.

“Congrats LeBron James. Top of the top,” added World Peace. Odom succinctly stated, “Congrats King James!!!”
